Painting with oil and cold wax is fun and highly creative. Whether new to cold wax or more experienced, learn and explore various techniques to establish foundations and build layers to create visually expressive abstract paintings. Combining approaches to mark-making, line, color, shape, value, and more, learn to bring your compositions to life with international award-winning artist, Mark Witzling.

This workshop is appropriate for those new to cold wax and those with previous experience. All are welcome! There will be plenty of hands-on painting time, instructor demos, and one-on-one instructor time.

Each day's session will include a half-hour break for lunch. The gallery has a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, table, and chairs where you can eat on-site.

NOTE: We will have a few supplies to purchase at cost if needed (cold wax, squeegees, brayers).

The instructor will bring and be willing to share:

  • Tabletop easels if desired
  • Paper towels or shop cloths

What should participants bring:

  • A brown bag lunch and something to drink
  • Oil paints - selection of transparent and opaque paints, any brand

  • Palette knife
  • 4 or 6" brayer (roller)
