Creative Expression in Oil and Cold Wax Painting

Calling all WNC artists! Come and learn oil and cold wax painting from a master of the medium! Visiting artist Mark Witzling is one of the best-known oil/cold wax painters in the US.

Painting with oil and cold wax is fun and highly creative. Whether new to cold wax or more experienced, learn and explore various techniques to establish foundations and build layers to create visually expressive abstract paintings. Combining approaches to mark-making, line, color, shape, value, and more, learn to bring your compositions to life.

This workshop is appropriate for those new to cold wax and those with previous experience. All are welcome! There will be plenty of hands-on painting time, instructor demos, and one-on-one instructor time.

Each day's session will include a half-hour break for lunch. The gallery has a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, table, and chairs where you can eat on-site.

NOTE: We will have a few supplies to purchase at cost if needed (cold wax, squeegees, brayers). We will also be offering for sale at cost three copies of Crowell & McLaughlin's Cold Wax Medium, Techniques, Concepts & Conversations in which Mark is featured.
